Half Day Field Trip: Exploring Colorado's Living Landscapes

  • Ecosa Institute 1169 South Huron Street Denver, CO, 80223 United States (map)

Join Ecosa Institute and Dr. Ryan Dibala of Birding Man Wildlife Tours for a half-day journey across three of Colorado’s most iconic ecosystems - the plains, foothills, and montane forests - and discover how birds reveal the hidden stories of these landscapes. Guided by a professional naturalist, you’ll see Colorado through a new lens, learning to notice species, behaviors, and ecological connections that are often overlooked. While the focus will be on bird identification, ecology, and natural history, we’ll also explore how geology, vegetation, climate, and land use shape bird communities across elevation gradients. Along the way, we’ll discuss key conservation challenges facing each ecosystem and what individuals and communities can do to help protect Colorado’s natural heritage. Whether you’re new to birding or an experienced observer, this tour will deepen your understanding of how birds connect us to the broader environment and why their stories matter.
